Last time I discussed a little about affiliate marketing and what it can do for you. I wanted to expand now to how to get an account with Clickbank, and how to get your hoplink to promote products.

You first want to visit Clickbank and go to their sign-up form. Enter your information and complete the sign-up process. Once this is done and you are in your account, you want to click on the tab that says marketplace.

At the bottom of the page is a box labeled list of categories. From here you can choose a category that interests you, or you may enter search terms for items to promote. I will generally click on one of the categories and then search for products that yield a certain % commission or have a high payout. This is all up to you and what your tastes are. Pick something that you have some interest in and would like to promote.

Once you have a product that you want to promote, click on the button under the description that says create hoplink.

Pressing this button will cause a pop-up window to appear that will ask you for your clickbank user name. Enter this and any tracking info that you would like into the fields. For tracking you can enter things like youtube if you are going to use youtube to market your product. Then anytime someone clicks the link from that site and makes a purchase, you know where it came from.

After entering your user info you will see two links in the box. The first is the url that you are going to use to promote the product that you chose. The second is the anchor link that you can place on a website if you would like to use it.

So there you have it. It is really simple to get started with Clickbank. Now that you know that we can move on to more important things like advertising your affiliate link. In the next post we’ll check out a couple ways to do this. Until next time.
