The process for an effective affiliate marketing campaign would be to drive targeted traffic to your site and have them opt-in to your list by offering them some sort of incentive. Then hope that your sales page does its job and converts your visitors into dollars.

Well, we hope that, but what kind of content is in your sales page. Hope your not trying to sell anything to your visitor.

Plain and simple:

People don’t like to be sold to.

If this is the truth, then how does anyone expect to sell anything on the internet? The magic word for today is Pre-Sell.

To pre-sell isn’t really selling anything at all. It is simple but many people don’t adhere to it, and you can tell because their conversion rates are real low.

So the most important thing when pre-selling is to offer quality content that delivers a value or a solution to your visitor. In your content, you can mention your affiliate product as more information on the subject. It is especially important that you never try and sell that product. Many people will just turn a blind eye to it.
