Using Clickbank for affiliates

I wanted to start off by letting you know that affiliate marketing is definitely an easy way to break into online business. For the newbie, it requires you to learn a couple of concepts that your probably not familiar with yet.

A little background about affiliate marketing. Companies that sell products use affiliates (salesmen), to sell their products. Usually these affiliates do not work for the the company in question but sign up with the company as an affiliate. The affiliate is rewarded a commission on the products that are sold as a result of their efforts. The company wins because they are making money and you win because you make money from the commissions. Win, win. Signing up to affiliate programs is easy and free. On the internet, there are websites that allow people to join and promote company products. Some of the big ones that you might see are Clickbank, Commission Junction, Amazon, Ebay,…etc. Joining these programs as stated earlier is free.

The websites out there differ somewhat in the types of products that you can promote. CJ(commission junction), offer mainly retail products that you would see in stores or malls. Clickbank is a site that promotes primarily digital download products, such as e-books/information products. I like Clickbank because digital products usually payout a much higher percentage commission then other products. An example would be 6% commission on CJ and 75% on Clickbank.

For some of you this is new stuff and for some this is old hack. In the following posts I’ll take you through the steps of getting an account with Clickbank and how to get started promoting other peoples products. As a side note, there are many sites and programs right now on the internet that claim you can make $1,000’s of dollars filling in forms or data entry from home. All they are promoting to you are how to use affiliate marketing to make money. Its true that you can make some big bucks, but it requires you to be a little more tech savvy then others also selling these products. Honestly you are getting ripped off if you get these programs. Many of them offer limited amounts of information on the subject and then further require you to spend additional money on other programs. Save your money and do your research and you’ll be better off. Talk to you next time.
